Puzzle Rush is taking place in Cologne for the second time!

Competitors will be racing to complete jigsaw puzzles in four categories: In the singles category, there are separate divisions for beginners, juniors and professionals; in the pairs category, teams of two compete; and in the team category, teams of four compete.

  • Singles Beginners & Juniors (taking place simultaneously): Puzzlers who cannot complete a 500-piece jigsaw in under 90 minutes and who have not finished within the allotted time. Here, a 200-piece jigsaw must be completed in 75 minutes.
  • Individual Professional: Puzzlers with tournament experience. Here, a 500-piece jigsaw is completed in 75 minutes.
  • Pairs: Here, a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle must be completed in 75 minutes
  • Team: Here, a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle must be completed in 90 minutes

Participation in the competition is only possible upon registration; the jigsaw puzzles may then be taken home. Accompanying persons and spectators are very welcome.

Der Veranstaltungsort ist auf zwei Etagen aufgeteilt, die durch eine Treppen verbunden sind. 

Es gibt einen rollstuhlgerechten Eingang, eine rollstuhlgerechte Toilette und einen Aufzug. 

Wir bitten um einen kleinen Hinweis bei der Anmeldung, damit wir entsprechend planen können und den Ablauf vor Ort so reibungslos wie möglich zu gestalten.

Anfahrt Auto: 

In der Umgebung des Bürgerhauses gibt es einige zahlungspflichtige Parkplatze. 

Unser Tipp: Ein Tagesticket im Parkhaus der KölnArcaden kostet nur 4€! Das Tagesticket muss in den ersten 60 Minuten nach der Einfahrt gelöst werden. Weitere Infos: Parken KölnArcaden

 

Anfahrt DB: 

Von der Haltestelle Trimbornstraße ist das Bürgerhaus fußläufig in nur ca. 10 min erreichbar. Die Haltestelle ist mit der S12/S13/RB25 erreichbar. 

 

Anfahrt öffentlicher Nahverkehr:

Von der KVB Haltestelle (Linie 1/9/ Bus 159) 'Kalk Post' ist das Bürgerhaus in ca. 7min fußläufig erreichbar. 

Selbstverpflegung. In der Veranstaltungslocation können mitgebrachte Speisen und Getränke verzehrt werden. 

Direkt am Bürgerhaus gibt es ein kleines Cafe 'Villa Kalka' welches von 09:00-22:00 Uhr geöffnet ist. Es bietet kleine Gerichte und Getränke an. https://www.villakalka.de/

Außerdem gibt es in der Umgebung viele kleine Imbisse, Bäckereien, Supermärkte und ein großes Einkauszentrum (Köln Arcaden) mit großem Angebot. Samstag haben die meisten Geschäfte bis mindestens 20:00 Uhr geöffnet. 

General rules

Only participants and officials (persons authorised by the club) may enter the competition area.

Participants must be on site 15 minutes before the start of the competition.

Participants under the age of 18 are generally admitted. They must be accompanied by an adult. To take part in the individual competition, children under the age of 14 in particular should be able to solve a 500-piece puzzle independently in the required time and have already done so several times if possible.

If a participant does not turn up, the club reserves the right to nominate participants at short notice, e.g. on the basis of a waiting list.

Until the presenter announces the start of the competition and the stopwatch starts, the puzzle boxes may not be manipulated, unsealed or opened.

Officials will monitor the competition and record the times of the competitors. If a competitor / pair / team is close to completing a puzzle, they should raise their arm to alert an official to record the time. After checking for completeness, the official will record the time and pass it on to the head judge.

After completing the puzzle, participants may leave the competition area early, taking all their belongings with them and taking care not to obstruct other participants. At the end of the competition, all participants should leave the competition area with their belongings so that it can be prepared for the next competition.

If pieces are missing at the end of the puzzle, 10 seconds will be added to the final time for each lost piece.

If the puzzle is not completed in the allotted time, the officials will count and note the correctly placed pieces.

Sorting aids or plates may be used as aids. Box top holders are also permitted. Headphones are permitted as long as they do not disturb other participants.
The participants themselves must bring their own aids.

Items that change the height or arrangement of the tables are not permitted. Additional light sources are not permitted. Templates that represent the puzzle manufacturer's pattern are not permitted.

Any assistance during the competition from a person other than the participant may result in the participant being disqualified.

All puzzles used in the competition are the property of the participants at the end of the competition.

The decisions of the judges during the competitions are final.

The organiser points out that pictures and film recordings will be taken during the event and that these may be published on the Internet or other social media. By participating in this public event, a participant waives his/her "right to his/her own image".

The organiser is not liable for loss or theft of items of any kind.

In the event of cancellation or postponement of the championship for reasons beyond the control of Puzzleverein Deutschland e.V., Puzzleverein Deutschland e.V. shall not be liable for any indirect expenses incurred by participants, with the exception of registration fees paid.
