The CCP is barrier-free

Detailed information can be found here.

With public transport:
Pforzheim can be reached by train with long-distance and regional trains. Long-distance buses also stop at Pforzheim main station.

The CCP is within walking distance of the main station (9 minutes). There are several city bus routes that connect the railway station with the CCP. The Weisenhausplatz bus stop is directly in front of the CCP.

By car:
Pforzheim is located on the A8 motorway between Karlruhe and Stuttgart. Coming from Stuttgart, take the Pforzheim-Süd / Wurmberg exit and drive towards Pforzheim. At the first roundabout, head towards the university / Wildpark and then follow the signs towards the centre. After crossing the River Enz, the CCP is on the left. Turn left at the next junction and drive to the Stadttheater multi-storey car park.

From Karlsruhe, take the Pforzheim-West exit and follow the signs to the city centre via the B10, B294 and B463. Approach the Stadttheater multi-storey car park.

There is a major roadworks site on the A8 near Pforzheim between the Pforzheim West and Pforzheim Süd junctions in both directions. The route around Pforzheim is very congested, especially at weekends and during rush hours. We recommend including this in your planning.

Participants and spectators must provide their own catering. There are several cafés and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. There is a small supermarket within walking distance (7 minutes). Drinks and snacks can be purchased in the hall.

Drinks and food you bring with you may not be consumed in the hall!

There are several hotels in Pforzheim. The Parkhotel Pforzheim is right next to the CCP. The City Hotel or the Ibis Styles Pforzheim are also within easy reach.

General rules

Only participants and officials (persons authorised by the club) may enter the competition area.

Participants must be on site 15 minutes before the start of the competition.

Participants under the age of 18 are generally admitted. They must be accompanied by an adult. To take part in the individual competition, children under the age of 14 in particular should be able to solve a 500-piece puzzle independently in the required time and have already done so several times if possible.

If a participant does not turn up, the club reserves the right to nominate participants at short notice, e.g. on the basis of a waiting list.

Until the presenter announces the start of the competition and the stopwatch starts, the puzzle boxes may not be manipulated, unsealed or opened.

Officials will monitor the competition and record the times of the runners. If a competitor / pair / team is close to completing a puzzle, they should raise their arm to alert an official to record the time. After checking for completeness, the official will record the time and pass it on to the head judge.

If one or more pieces are missing, the official will not record the time until the competitor signals that he/she wants to finish the round. If pieces are missing at the end of the puzzle, 5 seconds will be added to the final time for each lost piece. If several pieces are missing in one area, the head referee decides whether a penalty time will be added.

If the puzzle is not solved in the specified time, the officials will count and note the correctly placed pieces.

After completing the puzzle, participants may leave the competition area early, but must take all their belongings with them and take care not to obstruct other participants. At the end of the competition, all participants should leave the competition area with their belongings so that it can be prepared for the next competition.

Sorting aids or plates may be used as aids. Box top holders are also permitted. Headphones are permitted as long as they do not disturb other participants. Participants must bring their own aids.

Orders that change the height or arrangement of the tables are not permitted. Additional light sources are not permitted. Templates representing the puzzle maker's pattern are not permitted.

Any assistance during the competition from a person other than the participant may result in the participant being disqualified.

All puzzles used in the competition are the property of the participants after the competition has ended.

The decisions of the referees during the competitions are final.

The organiser points out that pictures and film recordings will be made during the event and that these will be used for public reporting on the Internet or other social media. The participants and spectators may be shown.
